![]() ![]() The only one who doesn't adhere to this rule is Ringfinger Leonhard, who describes a Darkwraith originating from "the land swallowed by darkness", but doesn't provide a name, suggesting that Londor has yet to be established. However, a more exciting possibility that plays into this theory is that Londor is yet to exist, explaining why no other NPC's in the game mention it or seem to be aware of its existence outside of those originating from Londor themselves. ![]() Hollows of Londor are sworn to its secrecy and those who break the rule are punished. Admittedly, another possibility could be that Londor's existence is a secret to the rest of the outside world. Londor is a land from the future and is yet to exist in the main game. Another idea to support this assumption is further on down in this theory. The Firekeeper in particular has her dress ordained to her for "cherishing the writhing, searing dark", possibly indicating that she strangely seems to enjoy her affinity to the dark, or holds it in high regard. However, I do think there are parallels between the two characters in the way they look with their black dresses and 'hair' colour (Yuria's hair is probably just a piece of her armour to feign the fact she has hair, because she's hollow) and also the fact that both have a strong connection to the dark. I admit this part of the theory is the most tenuous, simply because there's not any evidence to suggest this. The Firekeeper and Yuria are one and the same person. To me the evidence seems to imply past but there's evidence to the contrary of that too.Įither way places swallowed by the abyss (complete darkness) seem to exist outside the regular constrains of time as we know it. This is hinted at in game within the untended graves, which is clearly an area we've been to before (cemetery of ash) but from sometime in the past, or future. Specifically, I believe that anything that resides in the dark exists outside of the typical constraints of linear time, or time in of itself. I personally believe that the metaphorical concept of light being linked to time in Dark Souls has basis in actual, real world Physics in terms of Einstein's E=mc 2 equation and the like but what's more important is the implications this has for the nature of 'dark'. ![]() I've since developed my lore theories since then but also think that what I first originally thought was the plot of the game was a cool and interesting enough concept that I wouldn't want to dismiss my initial thoughts.įirst, to lay the groundwork for this theory, let's establish a basic assumption needed for this theory to take hold: I'd like to preface by saying I'm in no way endorsing this theory as canon, and is mainly a fun way of bringing together some of my initial ideas on what the true story of Dark Souls 3 was from my initial playthroughs of the game. ![]()
